Jets CB #34 Maquice Cole
/
Many see Marquice Cole (CB #34) playing a bigger role for the Jets this upcoming season. Under the guidance of coach Mike Westhoff, Cole is now considered an 'integral' part of the Jets special teams unit, and has developed a better understanding of the defensive schemes. In acknowledgement of Cole's progress he started against the Bills in the final game of the 2010 regular season. During the game he had 2 inceptions, returning one for his first career Touchdown.
Cole's NFL career started out at in 2007 when he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Oakland Raiders, he was waived by the team later in September. Cole also had brief spells with the Tennessee Titans and the New Orleans Saints, history once again repeated itself as Cole was let go by both teams. The Jets signed Cole in 2009 and during his debut season he featured primarily on special teams.
I caught up with Quice to see how life's been during the lockout.
How has the ongoing lockout affected you?
Hasnt' affected me that much yet. Just killing me not bring able to play the game I enjoy so much.
Have you met up with any of your fellow teammates during this time or have you worked out alone?
I've worked out alone for the most part but I have trained with some teammates a bit as well.
Do you think the lockout will have any affect on the quality of the football that fans will see during the season?
Not sure. I believe the first part of the season will be a little strange but then it'll get back to normal pretty quick.
I heard some players eat the same meal before each game, have there hair cut at the barbers,do you have any pre-game rituals?
Nah. No rituals for me. Just try to get my mind at ease before the game start.
It gets extremely cold in NYC during the season,Do you use any 'special lotion/potion' to keep warm? if so what?
I put on as much clothes that I can to be warm, and that won't affect my mobility while playing.
Whats your favourite play that you've been involved in (including college)?
There's been a lot. I really like my first interception and TD in the NFL though.
Who has the worst dress sense among the Jets players?
Lance Laury...without a doubt.
Everyone want a Sports player or Celebrity to follow them on Twitter, Who would you like to follow you?
Probably Eminem.
Tell us one thing about yourself that we don't already know?
