Jim Leonhard Signs With The Bronco's
/Free agent safety Jim Leohard signed for the Denver Bronco's yesterday. Leonhard who's season came to a premature ending (week 14) after tearing a tendon in his patella, put pen to paper on a one year deal. The veteran safety, who was regarded as the Quarterback of the secondary spent 3 seasons with the Jets, becoming a firm favourite with the fans.
With the dominance of the Patriots tight ends during both of last seasons encounters, I'm shocked that the Jets decided against bringing Leonhard back to the fold for another year, opting instead to go with the injury prone LaRon Landry and ageing Yereimah Bell, along side draftees Antonio Allen and recent addition Marcus Lott (Carolina Coastal) in a complete overhaul of the safety position. Eric Smith is the only surviving member (safety) from the 2011/12 team.
Leonhard thanked Jets fan via twitter yesterday.
