Closer Look: Undrafted Free Agents Part 2

Carrying on from yesterday’s blog we now continue our look at the ten undrafted free agents with second part of our closer look feature.

Marcus Dowtin 6ft 2” 230lbs North Alabama LB

Having featured mainly as a backup during the 2008 season, Dowtin saw action in 11 games in 2009, making three starts resulting in 57 tackles (7 for a loss). 2010 had a similar feel as Dowtin once again featured in 11 games recording 57 tackles (2 as a starter).

Having been charged with second degree assault Dowtin was released from his scholarship.

After transferring to Alabama, he went on to lead the team in tackles (115) during his 12 starts.

Donnie Fletcher 6ft 1” 199lbs Boston CB

Featured in every game during his first two years at Boston, making 7 starts (4 in 08, 3 in 09).

Fletcher became the starter in 2010 and led the team with five interceptions. During the 2011 season Fletcher recorded 35 tackles, 2 interceptions starting in all but two games due to injury.

During his 51 appearances’ for Boston 31 have been as a starter. He’s a quality zone defender that’s reads the QB’s eyes, possesses good leaping ability and is solid in run support.

Damon Harrison 6ft 3” 339lbs William PENN

Harrison’s first love is basketball, but due to surgery on both knees twice, during which he gained weight, his attention turned to football. An ideal 3-4 nose tackle, that’s stellar against the run he handles double teams with ease. Led the team in tackles during 2011 - 60 (8 for a loss) and 3 forced fumbles. Started 10 of the 11 games.
