Jets OTA’s; Media Day

You’d be forgiven for thinking that mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow were the only ones in attendance at yesterdays OTAs (media day).

Foe those wanting to throw facts at rival team Sanchez/Tebow followers I'll get this out of the way first. Sanchez looked sharp making the play of the day as he connected with rookie Stephen Hill for an 80yd TD (Kyle Wilson burnt in the process). Tebow threw back to back picks (Bart Scott and Yeremiah Bell with the INT)

Tony Sparanos no nonsense attitude was evident throughout the various drills. Kicker Josh Brown laid down a marker for Nick Folk (didn’t kick) making 5 out of 6 attempts, he missed from 45 yds.

Other notable performers were the now slim line Bart Scott, Yeremiah Bell, Big Mo Wilkerson put in an impressive display as did Greg McElroy who looks over the thumb injury that kept him out of last season.

Mike Westhoff was amongst the absentees due to him undergoing a procedure to replace a metal rod in his leg. Holmes, Revis, Landry and Cromartie also missed the OTAs.

Enjoy the quotes (below) from Rex Ryan after yesterdays OTA's.

“I’m really happy with Yeremiah Bell and Eric Smith back there, Yeremiah is a really outstanding player”.

“Love the jump Wilkerson is making. I don’t want to compare him to another player in the league because he’s writing his own tix”.

“I’m excited about Bart; he’s ready to be the guy we brought in when we signed him. He had a down year he wants to have a great year”.

“The tempo is the first thing that jumps out at me we are working at a fast pace. You see a lot of smiles on guys faces”.

“I never thought we found a rhythm running the football last season, this year our identity is going to be running the football”.
