John Abraham Back To The Jets?

Former Jet John Abraham is due to hit the free agency market. Despite his tender age of 33, Abraham is still considered one of the top pass rushers within the league, and racked up an impressive 9.5 sacks on the season, taking his career total to an impressive 111.

Should the Jets consider bringing back Abraham should the option arrive? His record speaks for itself, during his 6 seasons with the Jets he made 43.5 sacks, with back to back Pro Bowl appearances (2001,2002). Abraham was traded to the Falcons in 2006 for their first round draft pick.

Impressive his record maybe but many fans remember Abraham for his time spent on the sidelines....injured, would both player and fans be able to bury the hatchet should he return? Does he have a point to prove to us Jets fans?

During his time with the Falcons Abraham's numbers continued to be impressive, with an a career high of 16.5 sacks during the 2008/09 season, but once again during his time in Atlanta, Abraham has missed snaps/games due to various injury's.

The Giants emphasised the importunacy of having a quality pass rusher (or several) during their recent Super Bowl success, its an area we continually forget to address as a team. I'd be more than happy to have him back with the green green.

They say you can't put a price on experience, well the $8m Abraham Pocketed last season! is far too much and could prove to be a major sticking point for anyone wanting to pick him up. I imagine he'll get nowhere near last years salary due to his age and injury prone past. How much does he have left in the tank? Would you welcome him back if the price was right?
