Jets Vs Pats: Safety Zone

Recent meetings between the two combined with the Patriots dominance of the Jets during both regular seasons games last year offer little hope of a Jets victory and will no doubt will have you once again bracing yourself for another torrid 60 minutes at Gillette Stadium.

Rex Ryan finally gets the opportunity to match-up his ferocious, hard hitting safeties LaRon Landry (6ft 220lbs) and Yeremiah Bell (6ft 205lbs) against the formidable tight end pairing of Aaron Hernandez (6ft 1" 185lbs) and Rob Gronkowski (6ft 6" 265lbs) in one of the most eagerly anticipated match-ups of the season, that will no doubt have an influence on the outcome of this game for either team. Rex prioritised the need to 'beef up' the secondary as the Hernandez and Gronkowski  partnership took apart the safety pairing of Eric Smith (6ft 1" 207lbs) and Jim Leonard (5ft 8" 188lbs) during last season , as the two combined for 241 yards from 21 receptions scoring 2 touchdowns.

This is how Landry and Bell have fared against the tight ends they've faced so far this year.

Bills, Scott Chandler 4/38 1TD

Stellers, Heath Miller 3/19 1TD

Dolphins, Anthony Fasano 5/47 0TD

49ers Vernon Davis 2/28 0TD

Texans Owen Daniels 4/79 1TD

Colts Dwayne Allen 2/33 )TD

The pair have given up 244 yards from 18 receptions (40.6 yards per game).
